The motion provided by the excavator’s power generator is conveyed to the track links via the running motor and the sprocket rim. The sprocket rim’s teeth should fit the track link well and be able to drive it steadily. This should remain the case even when the link stretches due to wear and tear of its pin and bushing. Typically, the sprocket rim is located at the rear of the running gear of an excavator.
